The VSCA raced for the prize money put up by David Barker and family with the Supa Spray Feature at the Nyora Speedbowl. There were four heats run with each car running in three of them.
Placings
Heat 1 Logue, Barker, Painter, Hughes, Fitzpatrick
Heat 2 Logue, Bowman, Painter
Heat 3 Barker, Hughes, Bowman
Heat 4 Logue, Barker, Hughes, Bowman, Hutchins
Heat 1
Darren Painter was on pole but Mick Cook lead down the back straight followed by Peter Logue Painter, David Barker, Andrew Hughes and Mark Fitzpatrick. Cook held onto the lead and was challenged by Logue. When they came to the backmarkers Cook and Logue came together. Logue was able to continue on but Cook had to retire. On the restart Logue led Barker, Painter, Hughes and Fitzpatrick and that is how they finished.
Heat 2
Ken Hutchins shot to lead but his lead was short lived when he hit the wall coming out of turn 4 the first time. He was OK but his car was worse for wear. On the restart Logue took to the lead followed by Rod Bowman Painter and Cook. Cook had to pull in with a couple of laps to go which left Logue, Bowman and Painter to take out the places.
Heat 3
With Hutchins still working on his car and Warrick Taylor having fuel problems this left Hughes, Barker, Bowman and Painter to face the starter. Barker back after is rather nasty contact with the wall at Rosedale recently had his new car going well and took a handy lead. Bowman was close to Hughes but could not get through. Painter lost his fourth place because he did not respond to the Steward.
Heat 4
Logue was on pole and took the lead and opened up a handy lead from Barker, Hughes, Bowman, Hutchins and Taylor. Logue was going particularly well as was Barker and they came in ahead of Hughes, Bowman and Hutchins.
Feature
Logue was on pole with Barker also on the front row. Logue continued where he left off at Bairnsdale by taking out the heats he ran in. Barker was having a great night having his first run in his new car and they lead from the start. Logue soon opened up a lead which turned into a half lap lead from Barker. Bowman was also having a good night and was getting close to Barker but could not bridge the gap. Logue continued to do well and to the credit of all the drivers it was about lap 12 of the 20 lap feature that Logue started lapping the back markers. So the final placings were Logue, Barker, Bowman, Cook and Painter.
