Peter Logue had a clean sweep at Bairnsdale 26/2/11

Peter Logue showed why he is the points leader in the VSC Sprintcar series by taking  out  the three heats and the feature in convincing fashion at the Bairnsdale speedway on Saturday night.

Shane Fisher also has a good meeting by keeping out the other contenders and coming in second twice in the heats and also in the Feature

Rod Bowman also had a good meeting and was pleased to pick up a trophy on his home track in the feature

The VSC Sprintcars were keen to get a meeting underway as the previous two meetings were abandoned because of the weather.

The first heat saw Logue lead from the start with Fisher holding on to come in next from Bowman Siely, Moore and Cook.

The next heat saw Bowman lead from the start followed by Siely, Cook, Fisher, Logue, Taylor, Moore and Hutchins. Logue had moved up to third place when there was a restart on the seventh lap. Here Bowman was relegated to third place when the Steward deemed he had broken the start, Siely and Cook were put at the rear of the field when the Steward could no make radio contact. So this left Logue in the lead on the restart with Fisher next followed by Hutchins, Moore, Siely and Cook and this is how they finished.

The third heat saw Cook get to the lead out of turn two the first time closely followed by Logue,Siely, Moore, Bowman and Fisher. Logue got throgh Cook at turn one the fifth time round and he opened up a lead. Cook and Siely were close together, Bowman got through to fourth followed by Moore and Fisher.

The Feature saw Logue lead from pole and soon opened up a handy lead. Fisher was next followed by  Bowman, Siely, Cook, Hutchins and Moore. The leaders started lapping the back markers after the tenth lap with all cars holding their positions.

Getting Sponsorship

Posted by Pit Marshal in Oct 12, 2009, under Features

Getting Sponsorship can be a great help to a successful sprintcar campaign.

At the beginning of the season when teams are preparing to race and are looking forward to a successful season, they will be estimating the costs that will be involved to run a campaign.

At the moment the committee is in the process of getting sponsorship for the class. This will help , along with payments the class receives from tracks on race day to cover some of the costs. However with each team getting their own sponsors would be of great benefit to them and spread the sponsorship dollar over a greater area.

What can the class offer a potential sponsor?

The VSC Sprintcars provide a lot of excitement for race fans at the tracks we run at. In fact this is a class has a good following and attracts fans to the track.

The class is growing and with 10 to 12 cars in a heat will provide good racing during the season.

The class has a high profile and gets good coverage from the media.

The teams take a lot of effort in presenting their cars in a professional manner and always look good on the track.

The teams are well organised and are ready to race when they are called and line and race in an orderly fashion.

The cars with their wings provide plenty of opportunity to dislay potential sponsors Logos etc.

Sprintcars have plenty of area to advertise.

Sprintcars have plenty of area to advertise.

What can you offer as a team?

It depends on your sponsor and what they require but you can always find a spot for a sticker.

You can have a logo on a wing or you may find a sponsor who would like to paint the car in their companies colours.

You can make your car available for displays that the sponsor may want to add to a promotion they may be running.

Getting sponsorship does require some ime and research, but will be worth it for the help it can bring the team to campaign the car during the season.

Who do you approach in getting sponsors?

There may be someone you hnow interested in the speedway and would like to be part of the team and be prepared to pay for the privilege.

You may be able to have  products that you use on your car donated or be able to get them at a reduced rate, for this the sponsor may be happy for you to have a sticker on the car.

If you are in the fortunate situation where you purchase products from a company for your business, this company may be happy to support you in kind or with a cash donation.

It is a matter of getting in touch and finding out what will suit both you and the supplier.

If you would like some information on getting sponsorship you could contact the class at vscsprintcars@ymail.com and we may be able to help . Also you could  Click Here! and have a look at “Winning Proposals” and get more help.
